Software Engineer

Overview:

BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer for a fast-paced, mission-focused team. You will design, develop, and integrate solutions enabling a high-priority operations customer. Working closely with Analysts, Operators, and other Software Engineers, you will integrate AI/ML technologies and develop rapid prototypes supporting the mission.

What you will do:

Elicit requirements from stakeholders and determine the applicability of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions

Develop automated analysis and triage across various collection techniques

Integrate capabilities into existing platforms and SDKs

Build scripts and user interfaces to convert and normalize data

Automate tasking and collection by extending the existing platform with new tools or technologies

What you need to have:

3+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline + 2+ years of experience

Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly

Production-grade software development experience in Python or JavaScript

Experience with machine learning and AI tooling platforms

Service containerization and deployment with Docker/Kubernetes

Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines

Experience deploying and managing production services in fast-paced environments

Familiarity with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence)

What we'd like you to have:

Experience developing with agentic AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)

Experience with additional programming languages (Java, C)

Experience prototyping web applications with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue)

Ability to analyze cybersecurity-related datasets (Network Traffic, OS events)

Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems

Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
