About the role
Your Job
To assure the effectiveness and profitability of a cable products life cycle from inception to EOL, including the initial Quote Phase, NPI Activities, Flawless Production Launch, Cost Reductions, Manufacturing Optimization, including new products, product transfers and product changes which are consistent with the Product Development Process.
To actively participate in Product Development and Design, providing support to the NPD teams and manufacturing facility as needed.
To assure Delivery, Cost and Performance through planning, developing appropriate prevention and detection controls for new products, product changes and product transfers supporting plant metrics.
Our Team
Provide support to our BDMs, PDEs, Sales representatives and customers regarding any special requirement a product can have from Inception until End of Life
Support NPD team on new programs that's involve Nogales as a manufacturing plant.
Support and participate in product transfer to Nogales.
Support and participate in Product and Process changes.
This position can stop processes, machines and shipments that represent some risk in the quality of our products.
What you will do
Engages with forward facing cable product BDM's on new opportunities to determine project validity, alignment to plant capabilities, and acceptance to move to quoting phase
Engages with the PDE, Sourcing and manufacturing plant representatives in submission of a project costing proposal to BDM team
Works with the manufacturing plant representatives in developing a product specific launch plan (Including resources, timelines, deliverables, and milestones) to effectively achieve a flawless product launch
Works with the NPI and AQP engineers to identify the responsible contributors and monitor the assigned functions of each that allows for not only a flawless NPI launch, but a smooth integration into the plants' manufacturing process
Meets with the PDMs and customers (When applicable) during the Product Launch Process to ensure common understanding of requirements, and the necessary information for a flawless launch
Becomes the Single point of Contact for PDM, GSM, SEs and Customers for PSBU Cables on NPD Status, Expedites, Escalations, Manufacturing Questions and any other pre and post launch related inquiries
Supports the development team in finding root cause and developing corrective action for New Product Quality Issues and support efforts for systemic improvements of NPI Processes to avoid Quality Rejections
Identifies, Participates, and incentivizes the cost reduction efforts to increase the LGM, and make MOH, Labour, Sourcing and Overall capabilities as cost effective as possible
Uses interpersonal skills to reach consensus with team members when conflicts arise and work to maintain team cohesiveness through difficult team decisions. Solicits help if needed from other department resources to resolve issues
Initiates and participates in "Lessons Learned" exercise to determine and implement possible continuous improvement activities
Identifies and participates in the introduction of new capabilities, and improvement upon active capabilities for Cable Assembly products in the plant
Leads and Participates in Phase exit reviews for the PDP Process whenever applicable
Initiates and Participates in GCA and CAPEX requirement for any product launch or Capability development
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Who you are
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
5 years' experience in Product Management in a related field
Advanced English
Experience in Program or Project Management/Engineering and in new product introduction
Excellent team building and interpersonal skills; experience in a team-oriented work environment
Knowledge in cable assembly technical and testing requirements and IPC-620/A manufacturing standards
Strong problem-solving skills and New Product Introduction Process Knowledge
Willingness to travel when necessary (American Visa is required)

IATF 16949, ISO AS9100 or ISO 13485 Internal auditing training
Knowledge of Automotive, Commercial, and medical industries specifications (AIAG, ISO, IATF)
