Design Merchandiser – Jewellery

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 4–5 Years

Reporting To: Founders

Role Overview

Suta is looking for an entrepreneurial Design Merchandiser – Jewellery to lead the category from

concept to customer. This role combines design, merchandising, sourcing, and business ownership,

with direct exposure to the founders.

Key Responsibilities

 Own the Jewellery category, including product strategy, assortment planning, and launches.

 Develop seasonal and lasting collections aligned with Suta's design philosophy.

 Identify trends, materials, artisans, and vendors to create commercially successful

collections.

 Lead product development from ideation and sampling to final production.

 Plan assortment, pricing, inventory, and production quantities.

 Monitor category performance and drive growth through data-backed decisions.

 Build and manage relationships with vendors and artisan partners.

 Collaborate closely with Design, Production, Marketing, Retail, E-commerce, Marketplace,

and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful launches.

Desired Profile

 4–5 years of experience in Jewellery Merchandising, Product Development, Buying, or

Category Management.

 Experience with jewellery, fashion, lifestyle, or D2C consumer brands.

 Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership. Experience as a founder, early-

stage startup employee, or having built a category/business from scratch will be an added

advantage.

 Strong design sensibility with commercial and analytical thinking.

 Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and project management skills.

 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, founder-led environment with high ownership.

Preferred Background

Candidates from jewellery, fashion accessories, lifestyle, luxury, premium retail, or D2C brands will

be preferred. Experience building or scaling a product category will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
