Practice Manager – Maternity Cover Fixed Term Contract (6 months)

We're excited to be recruiting a Practice Manager to join our wonderful team at The Pet Hospital in Waterford on a 6-month maternity cover contract.

No two days are the same in practice life. One moment you'll be welcoming clients and their pets at reception, and the next you'll be helping to keep the practice running smoothly behind the scenes. If you're organised, proactive, and love building great relationships, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As Practice Manager, you'll be at the heart of the practice, balancing customer care with operational leadership.

Your role will include:

Supporting the reception team with client interactions, phone calls, appointments, and payments

Working closely with practice leadership and central support teams

Managing orders, supplier relationships, and invoice approvals

Overseeing staff holidays, payroll administration, and appraisals

Supporting the success of our Pet Health Club

Monitoring and managing outstanding debts

Helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong organisational skills, and can confidently manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

You may come from a veterinary, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or customer service management background. Most importantly, you'll bring leadership skills, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering a great experience for both clients and colleagues.

Hours & Work-Life Balance

This role offers a great work-life balance with:

30 hours per week across 4 days

Working hours between 9:00am and 5:00pm

No out-of-hours work

No Sundays

No bank holiday working
