What You’ll Do
The Account Manager plays a key role within the Supply Chain organization and is responsible for managing supplier relationships and coordinating inbound and outbound supply for an assigned Processing Center.
This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and strong problem-solving capabilities. The Account Manager will support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed supply targets related to volume, value, and quality while maintaining strong supplier partnerships and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage supplier accounts and maintain strong working relationships.
Coordinate inbound and outbound scheduling requests for assigned Processing Centers.
Maintain accountability for supply margins and overall account performance.
Manage inventory supply for assigned locations.
Develop and execute buying plans to ensure consistent supply flow.
Create and manage load requests to support operational needs.
Review and approve supplier invoices and ensure accounts payable comply with agreed terms.
Routinely report on supplier performance, supply trends, and operational insights.
Negotiate pricing and account terms with suppliers when needed.
You’ll Also Work On
Monitoring market trends, pricing, and supply conditions to support informed purchasing decisions.
Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and reduce costs.
Assessing supply chain risks and developing mitigation strategies related to supplier quality or supply disruptions.
Ensuring the quality of incoming supply meets company standards.
Developing a deep understanding of each supplier account and its operational needs.
Conducting onsite supplier meetings and maintaining regular communication.
Managing Gaylord and pallet supply for assigned operations.
Serving as a subject matter expert in both Thrift and Library supply channels.
Attending industry conferences and tradeshows as needed.
Assisting suppliers with troubleshooting and support related to the supplier portal.
BASE SALARY:
$60,000 - $80,000/yr. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base salary range for this position. owever, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.

If you join ThriftBooks as an Account Manager, you’ll play a critical role in helping us build strong supplier partnerships and maintain the supply chain that keeps millions of books circulating and out of landfills.
What You Need
Minimum 1 year of Supply Chain experience (planning or procurement preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience developing and maintaining supplier or customer relationships.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
CRM experience preferred.

Compensation
