About the role

American Family Care (AFC)

Founded in 1982 with a single location, American Family Care (AFC) pioneered the concept of non-emergency room care, providing treatment for injuries and illnesses in a convenient, lower-cost setting. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, AFC has grown into the nation’s leading provider of accessible healthcare, with more than 400 company-owned and franchised centers across the United States, caring for over 3.5 million patients annually.

Position Summary

The Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst serves as a key liaison between clinical field operations and technical analytics teams, supporting both franchised and corporate clinic environments. This role is responsible for translating operational needs into actionable data insights, managing analytics-related projects, and triaging incoming requests through a structured ticketing process. The Sr. Analyst ensures timely delivery of reporting, dashboards, and analyses that inform operational and strategic decision-making.

The Sr. Analyst operates with a high degree of autonomy, owning projects end to end and representing BI directly to senior stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards for clinical and operational stakeholders

Analyze clinic performance metrics (e.g., patient volume, revenue, throughput, staffing efficiency)

Provide tailored and actionable insights to improve operational performance across franchised and corporate clinics

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting systems

Own dashboard architecture and standards across the reporting portfolio, not only individual builds

Contribute to Gold-layer/data-model requirements rather than only consuming existing tables

Independently defend metric definitions and calculations to stakeholders

Stakeholder Communication & Translation

Act as a communication bridge between clinical field operators and technical analytics teams

Gather and document business requirements from non-technical stakeholders

Translate operational needs into clear technical specifications for BI developers/data engineers

Present findings and insights in a clear and easy-to-follow data and impact “story”

Lead requirements-gathering sessions independently, including negotiating scope and tradeoffs with stakeholders

Present findings to director- and VP-level audiences in addition to clinic operations

Project Management

Manage multiple BI-related projects simultaneously, from intake through delivery

Define scope, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

Track progress and ensure alignment with business priorities

Identify risks and escalate issues as needed

Own projects end-to-end from intake to delivery without day-to-day oversight

Mentor junior analysts as the team scales

Ticketing & Request Management

Monitor and triage incoming analytics requests via ticketing systems

Prioritize requests based on urgency and business impact

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution

Maintain documentation and status updates for all active requests

Set triage and prioritization policy for the request pipeline, not only execute it

Essential Qualifications

Analytical thinking and problem-solving

Stakeholder management, executive presence, clear & confident communication

Ability to effectively establish trust with both technical and non-technical audiences

Attention to detail and data accuracy for high-value reporting and analyses

Organizational and time management skills

Adaptability in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment

Effective prioritization and resolution of incoming tickets

Contribution to operational improvements across clinic network

Demonstrated ability to own a project end-to-end without a dedicated project manager

Experience negotiating scope and priorities directly with stakeholders

Education & Experience

4–6 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, or related field

Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and row-level security

Advanced SQL skills against a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred), including window functions and CTEs

Experience working with ticketing systems, Monday.com and Azure DevOps

Healthcare or revenue-cycle (RCM) domain experience strongly preferred
