Senior/ Principal - Accountant- Statutory Reporting

Job Duties

Under general supervision, applies knowledge of the company's business systems, business processes and controls, including policies and procedures, relative to the location and department assigned.

Demonstrates understanding of organizational structure and core businesses of the company and industry.

Performs activities involving complex accounting reports and accounting analyses with related spreadsheets and applications input. Prepares and posts journal vouchers for complex accounting transactions.

Reviews and monitors financial transactions for accuracy and timeliness. Researches and resolves complex accounting issues and transactions including related internal controls.

Prepares, analyzes, and distributes financial results including variance explanations. Participates in multi-functional teams and develops project management skills.

Demonstrates knowledge in moderately complex aspects of general accounting, internal controls, company policy, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, and financial applications, as well as intermediate levels of proficiency with industry and company acumen. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting related roles required.

Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or related field. Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles required.

The Team:

The local statutory reporting team is mainly responsible for the preparation of the local statutory financial statements of the Halliburton subsidiaries in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Individual Contributor managing the external audit team and country stakeholders with minimum support.

Prepare local GAAP financial statements, management reports and other related documents required for local statutory reporting.

Perform review and validation of US GAAP balances.

Identify, calculate, and post all necessary GAAP or timing adjustments to obtain the local statutory trial balance.

Independently lead and support audits and statutory compliances of the countries allocated.

Coordinate the input from all relevant information sources and manage the external audit of the statutory financial statements.

Focus on automation and standardisation when preparing the financial statements.

Handle month end close activities where required.

Provide timely and comprehensive answers and information to queries raised whether internally or externally.

Perform/Review Account Reconciliations

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)/ CPA/ CA – Inter qualified.

Total Years of Experience:5+ Years post qualification; 8+ years in case of CA (Inter)

Desired/Preferred Expertise:

Experience in preparation and/or audit of statutory financial statements is a plus.

Strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP or any other local GAAP.

Hands on experience in MS Excel and Word.

Knowledge of SAP ERP is an added advantage.

Good Verbal and Written communication skills.

Shift timing:

Ready to follow day shift with a mind-set for flexibility in work hours based on business requirement.
