Regional Applications Manager
About the role
Provide reactive and proactive technical support for customers including machine and process troubleshooting
Coordinate hot issues with regional product support, customer operations and regional service managers
Act as high-level technical resource for all of applications as well as sales, field service, product marketing and, of course, our customers
Design/conduct/directs complex experiments/field tests to ascertain hitherto unknown information
Coordinate and qualify customer trials, experiments, and JDP's
Interpret and communicate results
Prepare detailed scientific reports and comprehensive proposals
Perform scientific or mathematical analysis and calculations
Contribute ideas which improve our product or processes
Understand and interpret business and technology trends
Publish technical papers, application notes, manuals and presents seminars to train others
Present technical results and product information to support marketing and sales objectives
Provide summary of process flows and tool usage trends from region into product marketing
Reviews and studies professional literature and other wise maintains and improves current technical skills
Discuss and write about technical issues
Oversee Regional Applications Engineers, direct responsibility for performance review of regional engineers
Provide guidance and information resources to train and develop others, incl. amongst others problem solving & customers interactions
Support the Country Managers team, participating in pre-sales and technology scouting, interactions with engineering
Ensure that the Axcelis Sales & Service Organization is properly supported in all technical and commercial issues
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Knowledge of: Multiple aspects of semiconductor equipment subsystems. Basic implanter physics. Beam optics. Dosimetry systems, Diffusion technology and Processing, Vacuum technology. Semiconductor fabrication and device physics. Clean room protocols and wafer processing. Implant chemical analysis techniques. Implant and wafer metrology. Statistical process control and DOE. Basic business, accounting & financial practices. Basic management techniques. Supervising others.

Education
Preferred Degrees: BS plus 10 years, Masters plus 5 years, Ph. D plus 3-5 years
