VP Senior Business Analyst - Finance (Banking)
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (Finance) to join a leading banking organization and play a critical role in delivering finance transformation, regulatory reporting, and strategic change initiatives. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Finance, Technology, Operations, and Regulatory stakeholders, ensuring business requirements are accurately captured, documented, and delivered.
This position is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with extensive banking experience who has successfully transitioned into business analysis and change delivery roles.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control, Tax, Finance Operations, and Technology teams to drive business and regulatory initiatives.
Lead requirements gathering workshops with senior stakeholders across Finance and Banking divisions.
Analyze business processes, identify gaps, and recommend effective solutions.
Prepare high-quality business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, process maps, user stories, and test scenarios.
Translate complex finance and regulatory requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Support end-to-end project delivery, including requirements definition, solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and technology teams to ensure successful delivery of finance transformation programs.
Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and business sign-off activities.
Engage with senior finance stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in Finance within the Banking industry.
Strong background in one or more of the following areas:
Regulatory Reporting
Product Control
Finance Back Office / Finance Operations
Tax Reporting
Financial Control
Financial and Management Reporting
Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on finance-related projects and transformation initiatives.
Extensive experience in eliciting, documenting, and managing business requirements.
Strong expertise in preparing:
Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
Functional Specifications
Process Flows
Use Cases and User Stories
Gap Analysis Documentation
Strong understanding of banking finance processes, controls, and regulatory obligations.
Experience working with finance systems, data warehouses, general ledger platforms, or reporting solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Ability to communicate effectively with Finance, Operations, Technology, and Executive stakeholders.
Advanced business analysis and requirements management skills.

Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience in large-scale finance transformation, regulatory change, or data remediation programs within banking.
