About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect / Technical Lead to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of mission-critical enterprise applications for the Defence sector. This role is responsible for driving enterprise architecture, technical governance, cloud-native modernization, AI-assisted software engineering, DevSecOps practices, and engineering excellence across large-scale government projects.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Java and/or Microsoft .NET technologies, modern cloud-native platforms, secure software engineering, AI-powered development tools, and enterprise solution architecture within highly regulated environments. You will lead high-performing engineering teams while ensuring scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable solutions that align with government engineering standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Architecture

Define enterprise application architecture aligned with DSTA engineering standards.

Design secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available enterprise solutions.

Lead architecture reviews and technical governance activities.

Produce High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), Architecture Decision Records (ADR), and technical roadmaps.

Design API-first, Microservices, and Event-Driven architectures.

Lead modernization initiatives for legacy enterprise systems.

Ensure architecture compliance with government security and engineering standards.

Technical Leadership

Lead cross-functional engineering teams of 10–30 developers.

Establish software engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.

Drive code quality through reviews, automation, and continuous improvement.

Mentor Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Senior Developers.

Conduct architecture and design reviews.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and production issues.

Support Agile/Scrum delivery and technical planning.

AI-Assisted Software Engineering (Mandatory)

Leverage AI-powered software engineering tools to improve developer productivity and software quality.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

12–18+ years of enterprise software engineering experience.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.

Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions within government, defence, or highly regulated industries.

Strong hands-on coding capability in Java and/or .NET (not purely managerial).

Experience leading Agile/Scrum delivery teams.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
