The Team

Currently KPMG Tax and Legal provide services to some of the world’s largest companies.

KPMG is investing $5bn over 5 years in technology and our goal is to achieve the highest standards of quality and to deliver excellent solutions for our clients.

We are a team of 300+ technologists providing technology enablement services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has 2,500 tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines. We serve many thousands of clients and private individuals by providing a modern, market-leading suite of technology solutions that provide an efficient digital experience from routine to complex tax advice.

Tax is highlighted frequently as an industry where generative AI will have a significant impact on how services are provided. You will be working as a team at the forefront of navigating that change and redefining the way in which tax is determined in the UK and globally, making sure people and companies pay the right amount of tax with the minimum amount of effort

The team is made up of Technology Consultants, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Data Architects & Engineers, Multi-disciplinary Engineering teams and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Legal. We also build cutting edge web portals for clients to interact with KPMG, maximising collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of information to our clients.

The Role

The Senior Data Analyst is an Assistant Manager position and will be an integral part of a team delivering analytics solutions to clients across KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice.

Working with a mixture of UK-based and India-based data engineers and data analysts, you will play a key role in designing and implementing analytic solutions for both internal and external clients.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow and London. Regular travel to Glasgow or London will be required once travel conditions permit this. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.

You will have …

Recent experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer, using advance analytics and strong problem-solving skills to interpret complex requirements, processes and systems and solve wide-ranging business problems.

Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work cohesively with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders at various organisational levels through the full project life cycle:

Consolidate and analyse large and complex data sets, including appropriate quality control processes and present back to stakeholders.

Flex communication style accordingly to a wide range of business users

Explain technology to non-technical audiences

Experience with a variety of technology solutions for data transformation, such as:

Excellent knowledge of Alteryx

In this role you will …

Work with teams of BI Developers to develop visualisations, providing insights to our clients.

Practical application of data governance frameworks

Coach and mentor others to help them achieving their potential.

The best of both worlds

We might be world leaders, but in many ways the department feels like a start-up, with a twist. There’s the buzz of scrum working, the thrill of shaping compelling experiences, the chance to surprise and stretch yourself in response to a fresh challenge. And then there’s all the resources, technology and high-profile projects of a major corporate entity. Crucially, we also offer the benefit of clear career progression.

The diverse and inclusive employer

KPMG consistently features in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to work for. This has been recognised with a special achievement award to mark our 10 years in the Top 25. We pride ourselves on being a place where individuality is valued; you can be yourself and still achieve your potential. We believe that your individuality helps us to deliver the best results to our clients. Diversity of background, diversity of experience, diversity of perspective – that’s the KPMG difference.
