We're looking for a Senior or Principal Services Functional Consultant to join our Professional Services team. The appointment level will be determined based on your experience, technical expertise, leadership capability, and demonstrated success delivering complex HCM implementations. We are open to candidates located in Australia or New Zealand.

In this role, you'll lead customers through every stage of the implementation lifecycle—from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment and post go-live support. Whether you're an experienced Senior Consultant looking for your next challenge or a seasoned Principal Consultant ready to provide strategic leadership and mentor others, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

About the Opportunity

The Senior / Principal Services Consultant is responsible for leading the successful implementation of the aPay HCM solution by partnering with customers to understand business requirements, design effective solutions, configure the system, and guide customers through every stage of the implementation lifecycle.

Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, you'll provide implementation expertise, manage customer expectations, identify risks, and ensure successful project delivery. Depending on experience and level, you'll also provide strategic solution leadership, mentor consultants, lead complex implementations, drive best practices, contribute to solution design standards, and act as a subject matter expert across multiple functional areas.

What you’ll get to do

Provide Implementation Services to customers:

Document and validate customer’s business requirements and map to aPay functionality

Configure the aPay application to meet customer’s business requirements

Conduct consulting sessions (on the phone and in person) and document with meeting minutes

Attend internal project meetings and provide status on progress of activities and deliverables

Provide customers with follow-up consulting and general assistance in areas of expertise

Develop simple to moderate SQL scripts to extract specific data from the aPay solution

Be a “go-to” resource for specific functional areas for both internal and external users

Work with customers to implement aPay Organisational Readiness best practices in preparation for rollout of the aPay solution

Design and document innovative solutions to solve customers’ business needs

Guide the configuration of the aPay application to meet customer’s business requirements

Act as subject matter expert (SME) on strategic implementations

Lead internal project meetings and provide status on progress of activities and deliverables

Contribute to Internal Implementation Initiatives:

Design and document solutions and contribute to a solutions repository

Document best practices and share with the Practice

Lead the subject matter expert (SME) program in multiple areas of expertise (Payroll, Benefits, WFM)

Regularly participate in internal process improvement initiatives

Skills and experience we require

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

8+ years' experience in Human Capital Management consulting or implementation.

3+ years implementing aPay HCM solutions.

Experience implementing Australian Payroll, Awards, Union Agreements and EBAs.

Strong business process mapping experience.

Experience with organisational change management.

Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.

Experience working within SaaS/Cloud HRIS environments.

Ability to implement multiple aPay HCM modules.

Excellent consulting, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Additional experience expected for Principal-level

10+ years' HCM consulting experience.

Extensive experience leading large or complex implementations.

Demonstrated ability to mentor consultants and provide implementation leadership.

Deep expertise across multiple aPay HCM modules.

Product certification across multiple modules.

Proven ability to lead solution design, implementation governance and strategic customer engagements.

Experience supporting presales, solution scoping and estimation.
