About the role:

The Financial Analyst provides high level financial analysis and advice to support eHealth's budget development, forecasting and financial management, including shared services with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. The role supports the preparation of budgets, forecasts and financial reports, ensuring alignment with departmental and government frameworks. It analyses financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, providing insights to inform decision making and resource allocation. The position supports program areas to build financial capability and compliance and works closely with corporate finance teams and central agencies as required.

About you:

Can you demonstrate the following?

Applies departmental and whole‑of‑government financial policies, frameworks and business plans within own area of responsibility.

Contributes financial analysis, reporting and advice that supports divisional and departmental budget development and financial management processes.

Prepares clear, accurate and timely financial reports, briefs and correspondence on complex financial matters for a range of stakeholders.

Communicates financial concepts, requirements and implications to program areas to support informed decision‑making and build financial capability.

Provides specialist financial and corporate support to the eHealth division, including coordination of budget, forecast and reporting processes.

Drafts financial reports, reconciliations and recommendations by interpreting and analysing complex financial information.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Mandatory

Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting within a public sector or large, complex organisational environment.

Proven ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, risks and variances, and provide clear, evidence based financial advice to support decision making.

Desirable

Experience with Power BI and Data Queries highly desirable.

Experience in process improvement highly desirable.

Experience applying financial policies, procedures and governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, compliance and integrity of financial information.
