Job Description

Overview

Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities. As the world’s leading security screening provider, Rapiscan Systems provides state-of-the-art products, solutions, and services to meet our customers’ most demanding threat detection needs.

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) has the overall technical responsibility for ensuring that their sites meet all contracted Service Level Agreements (SLA). The FSE executes routine work as required which includes installation, repair and maintenance support of the full range of Rapiscan’s Checkpoint & Trace products in Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, the FSE has responsibility for the quality of all project and service work to meet the specific client requirements within the scope of the statement of work.

Responsibilities

Installation of the full range of the Company’s Checkpoint & Trace products at customer sites.

Routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of the Company’s equipment at customer sites.

Provide out-of-hour standby cover as part of established teams.

Carry out basic Operator and Technical training when required at customer sites.

Carry out site surveys and advise customers on technical matters prior to installations.

Complete all reporting requirements, both internal and customer-based reports, in a timely manner.

Comply with all QA and HSE requirements, as stipulated by Rapiscan Systems and relevant legislation.

Travel as required.

Any other departmental ad-hoc duties when required.

It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid the recurrence of the problem.

Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

Min 2+ Years of experience in similar role.

Electrical/Electronic background is preferred.

High level of organizational skills.

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage responsibility in an independent manner.

Exceptional attention to detail & capability to develop detailed processes.

Ability to multi-task.

Successful record of on-time project delivery.

Able to quickly grasp new technologies at a high level.

Ability to manage conflict and liaise with demanding clients.

Strong Client relationship skills.

Strong ability to represent a professional image onsite.

PC literate and Microsoft knowledge required.

Availability for some after-hours work.

Electronics and computer knowledge.

Qualifications in subjects relevant to the role essential.
