DB Developer (SQL Server)

We are seeking an experienced DB Developer (SQL Server) to join our technology team in Gurugram. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server development, database architecture, performance optimization, and data management. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy designing efficient database solutions, improving system performance, and supporting business-critical applications through robust database engineering.

The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to develop scalable, secure, and reliable database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases to support enterprise applications.

Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.

Develop efficient database schemas, indexing strategies, and relational data models.

Analyze database performance and implement optimization techniques to improve response times and scalability.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all database environments.

Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning.

Support database migrations, upgrades, and deployment activities.

Work closely with application developers to design efficient data access solutions.

Translate business requirements into optimized database structures and technical solutions.

Troubleshoot database issues and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, database standards, and operational procedures.

Implement best practices for database governance, access control, and security compliance.

Required Technical Skills

6 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database development.

Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.

Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.

Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing, and query optimization.

Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, and database design.

Experience in backup & recovery, replication, high availability, and database maintenance.

Knowledge of ETL processes and large-scale data migration.

Familiarity with database security, user permissions, and access management.

Working knowledge of Git or similar version control systems is an advantage.

Exposure to Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or other cloud-based database platforms is desirable.

Basic understanding of APIs and application integration is preferred.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

SQL Server or Microsoft database certifications will be an added advantage.
