About the role

Summary Do you want to help build some of the largest and most consequential enterprise and customer technology systems in the world? Join Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization. IS&T is the engine behind everything Apple does for customers and for the people who build for them. It’s Apple’s central nervous system. Supporting 2.5 billion active Apple devices, processing billions of secure transactions, and keeping the technology that defines modern life running flawlessly, IS&T makes the impossible feel effortless.Do you love building solutions to handle global complexity and immense scale? Imagine what you could do here.

Employee Experience and Productivity (EEP) is part of IS&T and delivers some of the most widely used communication and productivity technology and services across Apple — from tools that enable collaboration to the support teams that keep Apple's workforce running. EEP also leads user experience design and research, and manages the systems behind Apple's original content studios. Within this team is Employee Engagement & Engineering (EEE), a small, global team that quickly delivers with long-term vision, building durable, reliable systems meant to last. Our focus is on crafting high-quality, user-centred experiences — delivering AI and system interoperability to make every interaction intuitive, seamless, and genuinely useful for the people who rely on our tools.

Description As an Early Careers Full Stack Software Engineer on the EEE team, you will contribute to both the native Apple-platform applications and the backend services that power them. You will work across the stack — building UI in Swift and SwiftUI, integrating with APIs, and contributing to service-layer development — gaining broad experience in how modern platforms are built and operated.

Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will take ownership of well-scoped tasks that span client and server, building strong foundations in full-stack development within a small, globally distributed team where your contributions are visible from day one.

Responsibilities

Develop native application features alongside the backend services that support them

Build and maintain RESTful APIs and service endpoints that power the application layer

Implement client-side data integration — networking, caching, and persistence patterns

Write automated tests across the stack (unit, integration, API) and contribute to engineering quality

Participate in code reviews across both client and server codebases

Investigate and resolve issues spanning the full stack — from UI rendering to API behaviour

Collaborate with designers and senior engineers to understand requirements and deliver features

Document APIs, data models, and integration patterns clearly

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of native Apple-platform development

Familiarity with backend development (Python, Java, Go, or similar) and RESTful API design

Understanding of relational databases and basic data modelling

Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Preferred Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience shipping production applications on Apple platforms

Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerised deployments

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines spanning client and server builds

Understanding of authentication, authorisation, and API security patterns

Experience with data persistence on Apple platforms (SwiftData, Core Data)
