About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team within a leading manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer with strong SolidWorks experience and a proven ability to manage multiple projects from concept through to delivery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of custom tooling, automated systems, and installation equipment, while collaborating closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop tooling, fixtures and installation systems for manufacturing applications.

Design manual and automated equipment to support customer and production requirements.

Manage multiple engineering projects from concept through to final delivery.

Evaluate project requirements, prepare costings and support quotation activities.

Produce detailed 3D models, technical drawings and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.

Review designs to ensure manufacturability, performance and quality standards are met.

Coordinate manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning activities.

Support equipment installation and customer acceptance activities when required.

Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), product data and engineering records.

Work closely with engineering, operations, sales and customers to ensure successful project execution.

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product performance.

Requirements:

Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.

3–5 years' experience in mechanical design engineering within a manufacturing environment.

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and technical drawing creation.

Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with CNC machining, tooling, automation or press shop environments would be advantageous.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Willingness to travel within Europe on occasion.
