Electrical Engineer – Data Centres / Mission-Critical Infrastructure
Location: UK-based, with travel as required
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 DOE
Engagement: Long-term programme support

This is for an Electrical Engineer with proven data centre experience who wants hands-on technical ownership across design, construction and operational support — not just another design review role.
About the role
You’ll provide specialist electrical engineering support across a global mission-critical infrastructure programme, working on highly resilient technical facilities through planning, design, construction and operational phases.
The role suits someone who understands the demands of live data centre environments, complex electrical systems, change control, consultant/vendor coordination and technical problem-solving across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
Review and develop electrical system designs for new data centre / mission-critical facility deployments
Review design packs, specifications, vendor documentation and consultant deliverables
Ensure designs align with engineering standards, local codes and project requirements
Identify value-engineering opportunities without compromising resilience or availability
Support concept development, technical evaluations and multidisciplinary design coordination
Resolve construction-stage electrical engineering issues
Support engineering change requests, bulletins, design updates and OFE documentation
Provide operational engineering support to improve system resilience, reliability and performance
Prepare technical summaries, reports and updates for project stakeholders
Requirements
Proven electrical engineering background within data centres / mission-critical infrastructure
Experience supporting projects across design, construction and operational phases
Strong understanding of resilient electrical systems in technical facilities
Able to review design documentation, specifications and vendor submissions
Comfortable working with consultants, contractors, operations teams and senior stakeholders
Willing to travel as required for global project support
Desirable / nice-to-have background
Experience across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise or critical facilities environments
Exposure to OFE documentation, change control and engineering issue tracking
Background working with consultancy, client-side, contractor or delivery partner teams
Experience improving reliability, availability, maintainability or energy efficiency across technical sites

Best suited to Electrical Engineers, Senior Electrical Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, Electrical Project Engineers or Mission Critical Engineers with direct data centre project experience. Relevant backgrounds may include hyperscale data centres, colocation facilities, critical infrastructure, technical real estate, MEP consultancy, client-side delivery, main contractor, commissioning or operational engineering environments.
Data centre experience is a red-line requirement.
