About the role
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Sales & Business Development professional who understands railway systems and infrastructure. We need someone to drive growth by identifying new opportunities, build client relationships and close sales. You will play a key role in expanding our market presence and sales growth. As part of a global team your main focus will be to develop business and secure sales in Iberia, working with the existing Operational Team to continue and accelerate growth within a successful unit. Alongside there is the possibility to reach into Italy and other south European markets to provide additional growth. Additionally, you will support the global sales network to meet overall Rail business objectives and contribute to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the railway sector, including rolling stock, signaling, electrification, and infrastructure projects.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through personal connections, industry networking, trade shows, and market research.
Negotiate and close contracts to achieve sales growth and revenue targets.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives and industry trends.
Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial proposals tailored to client requirements.
Monitor competitor activities and market developments to inform strategic decisions.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including rail operators, infrastructure managers, OEMs, and government agencies.
Be very proactive is connecting regularly with new and existing clients to understand their needs and discover how DNV can support them in resolving challenges.
Be responsive and positive in interactions with customers exhibiting a curious and empathetic mindset.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of high quality & attractive solutions to customers.
Work with Global Team to achieve overall Rail Business Objectives
Form a strong internal network within DNV to ensure strong combined solutions are able to be offered to address customer’s needs.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and emerging opportunities.
Project Delivery:
As a team we depend on each other to support customers and deliver projects operating a hybrid seller-doer model. Therefore, although sales & BD is your primary focus you will also have some customer projects to support and deliver, specifically where you have the key client relationship and required technical expertise.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Revenue Growth: Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
Pipeline Development: Maintain a healthy pipeline
Client Acquisition: Secure a number of new clients within the railway sector annually
Proposal Numbers & Conversion Rate: Achieve a sustained number of proposal submissions & conversion rate from proposals to signed contracts.
Market Expansion: Enter new geographic markets or segments.
Networking & Engagement: Attend a number of industry events/trade shows and generate qualified leads & new contacts.

About you
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in sales and business development within the railway or transportation sector.
Knowledge of railway systems (e.g., signalling, rolling stock, electrification, track infrastructure).
Experience of delivering technical consulting and/ or certification work in main companies within the sector will be a plus, as well as international experience
Excellent sales, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Flexible and willing to explore new ideas with customers
Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced Spanish & English speaker
Availability to travel locally and internationally
Availability to change residence, if required to attend national and/or international projects in the medium term
