We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of our financial data, and contributing to the strategic financial planning of the company.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Lead the financial management of projects, including detailed job costing, budget tracking, and variance analysis to ensure project profitability.

Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance.

Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax filing requirements.

Analyse financial performance and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

Proven experience working as an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or in a similar senior accounting position.

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Strong proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities with a high attention to detail.

A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable.

Previous experience in the construction, roofing, or a related project-based industry would be a significant advantage.
