The Open Systems Solutions (OSS) Products Team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - Scrum Master to join our next-generation Open System Architecture product development. This organization develops open standards–compliant modular solutions and enables rapid deployment of mission critical capabilities to the warfighter. As part of Collins Mission Systems, OSS provides advanced communications, flight and ground computing, sensors, cyber solutions, and mission system integration.
The successful candidate will perform systems engineering analysis, requirements development, architecture, integration, and verification/validation, while also guiding Agile teams in applying Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban practices to deliver high quality system capabilities. You will work hands on in a classified lab environment, support both technical planning and program execution, and help mature Agile practices across the organization.
What You Will Do
Lead and support Agile/Scrum team activities, including standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, PI planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Guide teams in applying Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban practices; remove impediments and ensure transparent communication and dependency management.
Partner with Product Owners, Team Leads, and Agile leadership to prioritize backlogs, plan increments, track progress, and use metrics for data-driven decision making.
Perform systems engineering across the product lifecycle, including requirements development, functional analysis, trade studies, architecture/design, interface definition, and decomposition.
Support system integration, verification/validation, and development of test plans and verification criteria.
Contribute hands on analysis, modeling, and design; work in a classified lab environment as needed to support integration and test activities.
Coordinate technical activities and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver product increments and mission critical system capabilities
Up to 25% Travel Required
Qualifications You Must Have
Familiarity with Agile processes and methodologies, including participation in Scrum or SAFe teams
Experience with systems development processes including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, verification/validation, and transition to production
Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody)
Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Matlab)
Experience with MS Project, Confluence, JIRA, or similar tools
Technical risk & opportunity management, interface definition, and configuration management
Agile leadership experience (Scrum Master, Product Owner, etc.)
Experience with bidding, estimating tools (SEER), and BOE development
Familiarity with military CONOPS or radio performance standards
Design-to-cost, design-for-manufacturing background, or experience transitioning products to production
Existing SAP clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Compensation
This Systems Engineer role pays $87k-$165k/yr. Within typical range for systems engineer roles in United States.
