Job Description

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs.

Build reliable, modular, and maintainable software following engineering best practices.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality features.

Participate in the design and implementation of cloud-native, microservices-based applications.

Optimize application performance, database queries, and API response times.

Contribute to code reviews and continuously improve code quality.

Debug production issues and participate in on-call rotations when required.

Write unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability.

Work with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes to deliver software efficiently.

Learn and adopt engineering best practices, including security, observability, and performance optimization.

Requirements

Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to improve developer productivity and code quality.

3–5 years of experience in backend software development.

Strong knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) with the ability to write efficient, optimized code.

Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design principles.

Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.

Good understanding of system design fundamentals and distributed systems concepts.

Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and exposure to NoSQL databases.

Familiarity with caching technologies (Redis/Memcached) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Willingness to learn, take ownership of assigned features, and continuously improve engineering practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience building and maintaining backend services in production environments.

Familiarity with microservices architecture.

Exposure to observability tools, logging, and monitoring is a plus.

Experience working on SaaS or cloud-based applications is preferred.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
