About the role

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer III to design, develop, and maintain modern enterprise data platforms supporting business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, developing and optimizing Snowflake data warehouse solutions, creating DBT models, and modernizing enterprise ETL environments using IBM DataStage.

The ideal candidate has strong cloud data engineering expertise, experience integrating legacy ETL platforms into modern architectures, and a passion for improving data quality, performance, and governance.

Candidates with Banking, Financial Services, or Mortgage Lending experience are highly preferred.

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Work Arrangement: Onsite (Business Requirements)

Employment Type: W2 – Full-Time

Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract (Extension Likely)

Work Authorization: No Sponsorship Available (F1, H4, and Green Card candidates eligible)

Experience Required: 5+ Years

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines

Develop and optimize Snowflake data warehouse solutions

Create and maintain DBT models

Build reusable and modular data transformation pipelines

Design logical and physical data models

Maintain and modernize IBM DataStage ETL processes

Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems

Develop batch and near real-time data processing solutions

Build scalable data models for Business Intelligence

Optimize SQL queries and warehouse performance

Monitor data quality and implement validation processes

Troubleshoot ETL failures and production issues

Collaborate with Data Architects, BI Developers, and business stakeholders

Support disaster recovery and data resiliency initiatives

Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning

Document metadata, data lineage, and technical specifications

Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of Data Engineering experience

4+ years of Snowflake experience

Strong DBT experience

IBM DataStage experience

Advanced SQL development skills

Enterprise data modeling experience

Experience building scalable ETL pipelines

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently
