Staff Accountant

Location: Fairfield Inn & Suites & Towneplace Suites

Pay Range- $21-$42 an hour

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the team at Adero Scottsdale Resort. This role will be responsible for supporting the operations team as well as support for the corporate finance team. The Staff Accountant position will be responsible for maintaining the accounting responsibilities on property to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Specific Expectations:

Produce and distribute daily revenue reports and prepare comp journal entry. Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.

Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures. Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all cash variances. Prepare, maintain, and administer all cashier banks and contracts.

Accounts Payable duties-Maintain electronic file for invoices received and processed, input invoices, set up new vendors and review vendor statements. Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved. Confirm year end balances with all vendors.

Accounts Receivable duties- process and maintain group deposits, prepare final group billings. Lead daily and weekly AR meetings. Attend weekly BEO meetings. Prepare daily folio review for groups inhouse, reconcile discrepancies and send to sales team for approval by group contact. Post payments for all AR accounts. Email group contacts deposits due reminder, deposit receipts, billing summary and payment confirmations.

Assist the Director of Sales and Marketing with the distribution of Group Contracts to Group Contacts.

Assist Sales department with follow-up calls for group drop dates and rooming lists.

Enter rooming lists to assist the sales effort.

Complete banquet gratuity spreadsheet.

Handle credit card chargebacks and provide guest folios with receipts upon request.

Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.

Provide accrual backup documentation to Accenture, maintain schedule for contract labor hours to verify stat hours posted correctly.

Specific Candidate Profile:

A minimum of 2 years of practical financial experience in the hospitality industry

Experience in multiple systems and interfaces with the working knowledge of property management systems and point of sale systems. Experience with Fosse (Fosse and Peoplesoft) a plus.

Excel proficiency required.

Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent follow-up

Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally
