As we continue expanding across North America and Australia, we're looking for a motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our U.S. engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge agricultural robotics while collaborating closely with engineering teams and customers in both the United States and Australia.
About the Role
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will support the deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Beagle's autonomous harvesting systems. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software disciplines in both workshop and field environments.
This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges, working directly with customers, and seeing their engineering solutions operate in real agricultural environments.
You'll also play an important role in supporting Beagle's growing Australian operations through periodic international travel for customer deployments, engineering collaboration, training, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, test, commission, and validate autonomous harvesting equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues
Support customer deployments, equipment installations, and field demonstrations throughout the United States
Travel to Australia periodically to assist with product deployment, engineering support, customer training, and field validation
Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and system optimization
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in the United States, Australia, and China
Document engineering changes, testing procedures, field reports, and service documentation
Assist with prototype development and continuous product improvement
Provide technical support during customer installations and field operations
Participate in product testing under varying environmental and field conditions
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
Mechatronics Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Robotics Engineering
Automation Engineering
Or a related engineering discipline
0–3 years of engineering experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
Working knowledge of:
Electrical wiring
Sensors and actuators
PLCs or embedded control systems
Mechanical assemblies
Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with robotics, automation, or autonomous systems
Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of CAN Bus communication
Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or embedded systems
Agricultural equipment or heavy machinery experience is a plus
Experience working in outdoor or field environments is beneficial
Language Skills
Required
Fluent in English
Preferred
Mandarin Chinese language skills are highly desirable, as this role will collaborate frequently with members of Beagle's global engineering team in China.
Travel Requirements
This position includes both domestic and international travel.
The successful candidate should be:
Willing to travel approximately 20–40% as business needs require
Available for periodic travel throughout the United States to support customer installations, field testing, demonstrations, and service activities
Willing and able to travel internationally to Australia for engineering collaboration, customer support, product deployment, and training
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Able to obtain and maintain the necessary travel documentation, including an Australian visa (or other required entry authorization), for business travel
Travel schedules may range from short domestic trips to international assignments lasting one to three weeks.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
