Junior QA Automation Engineer (1–4 Years Experience)

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior QA Automation Engineer with 1–4 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in manual testing along with hands-on experience or a strong interest in automation testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products by designing, executing, and maintaining both manual and automated test cases.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.

Perform manual testing for web and/or mobile applications.

Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.

Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect tracking tools.

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.

Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.

Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.

Validate backend data using SQL queries where required.

Maintain test documentation, automation frameworks, execution reports, and defect reports.

Contribute to improving QA processes, automation coverage, and testing best practices.

Continuously learn and adopt new automation tools and technologies.

Required Skills

1–4 years of experience in Software Testing with exposure to Automation Testing.

Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.

Experience in writing clear and effective test cases and test scenarios.

Hands-on experience with at least one automation tool such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.

Basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.

Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.

Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, NUnit, or PyTest.

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or GitLab CI.

Basic understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.

Experience testing REST APIs and JSON/XML responses.

Exposure to performance or security testing is a plus.

Pay: Up to ₹480,000.00 per year
