Job Introduction
Are you a driven Project Engineer with a process or chemical background looking to make a real impact? In this role, you’ll play a key role in delivering capital and special revenue projects that enhance site capability, improve efficiency, and support sustainable growth.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will support and deliver a diverse portfolio of engineering projects across multiple sites. You’ll work on initiatives that go beyond routine maintenance - focusing on plant improvements, efficiency optimisation, and long-term infrastructure development.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving best-in-class engineering practices.
Main Responsibility
Key Responsibilities
Support and deliver engineering projects across all OBU sites, outside routine maintenance scope
Contribute to solutions addressing plant performance, health & safety, and environmental challenges
Develop and support initiatives that optimise and future-proof site infrastructure
Provide input into Site Master Plans, 5-year strategies, and capital budgets
Support project prioritisation and lead allocated engineering development projects
Project Delivery & Management:
Define project concepts and develop technically robust solutions
Conduct financial analysis and prepare strong CAPEX justifications
Identify and manage suppliers, tender processes, and contract negotiations
Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Lead handover to operational teams with clear documentation and training
Performance & Continuous Improvement:
Produce clear technical reports with data-driven recommendations
Monitor and report on key metrics (capital spend, milestones, variations)
Contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives
Support operational engineering activities to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
Ensure plant, utilities, and infrastructure assets are maintained to high standards
Our Ideal Candidate
What We’re Looking For
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Chemical, Process, or related Engineering discipline
Proven experience in project engineering within a process or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of CAPEX project delivery and financial justification
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards
A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
