Manager, Operations & Special Projects
About the role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Provost & University Registrar, the Manager, Operations and Special Projects is responsible for the administrative management of the Registrar’s office. This includes overseeing day-to-day business operations, human resources management, financial activities, office and stakeholders communications and contracts, events and special projects.
Job also provides operational support to the Academic Advising Centre and Campus Card office assisting with various administrative functions, process improvements and troubleshooting operational issues that arise, as directed by the Associate Provost & University Registrar. This role ensures smooth collaboration between the Registrar’s office, Academic Advising Centre, and Enrolment Management department, Including coordinating events and supporting cross-office projects.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
Knowledge of operational management and leadership concepts practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
Knowledge of event planning and communications program design, delivery,assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
Knowledge of Human Resource Management
Knowledge of Budget Management
Knowledge of Facilities Management
Knowledge of Best practices in Communications
Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
Knowledge of Project management
Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
Knowledge is used to lead event and communication operations for registrarial services
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
Completion of undergraduate degree
Minimum of four years in progressively responsible positions including two years of management and leadership experience
