About the role

Senior Product Designer

Customer & User Journeys

Who we are

At OpenUp, our mission is to make mental well-being accessible to everyone. Following a 'high tech & high touch' approach, we support companies, their employees, and their families with proactive and practical mental health services. Through our digital platform, clients can access 1:1 check-ins, online courses, articles, videos, group sessions, mindfulness practices, and a team of committed mental well-being experts. As we believe that mental and physical well-being are deeply connected, we have also added Lifestyle Experts to our offering, focusing on nutrition, exercise, and sleep.

OpenUp was ranked in the Top 3 on LinkedIn's Top Startups list for 2023, 2024 & 2025 and is continuously growing. We are already serving 2000+ companies (e.g. Rituals, Deloitte, Decathlon, KPMG, and McDonald's), through which 600K+ employees have access to our product.

Your role

As a Senior Product Designer, you will own meaningful end-to-end journeys across OpenUp's web and mobile product, from the first employee touchpoint through to long-term engagement. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to ship high-quality, high-craft work that makes mental health support feel accessible, calm, and trustworthy. You bring strong execution skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to move from ambiguity to clear, well-considered solutions. You'll also contribute to our design system and collaborate with colleagues across the team to raise quality standards.

What you'll work on

You'll lead design across journeys and systems such as:

Onboarding, activation, and navigation

Booking and participation flows (1:1 sessions, group sessions)

Check-ins and progress experiences

Content discovery and completion (courses, videos, articles)

HR/admin dashboards and reporting (clarity, actionability)

Design system components and reusable patterns

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end design of key product journeys (onboarding, booking, check-ins, content, progress) across web and mobile

Work closely with Product to understand user needs and translate them into clear, considered design solutions

Improve information architecture and navigation so the platform feels coherent, calm, and easy to use

Design and ship high-craft interaction and UI work, from concept to production, with strong specs and tight engineering collaboration

Use rapid prototyping (including AI-enabled prototyping) to explore and validate solutions quickly

Improve how users discover, choose, and complete content so it feels like guidance, not a content warehouse

Contribute to HR/admin experiences (dashboards, reporting) to make insights actionable for HR teams

Contribute to design system patterns that increase delivery quality and speed

Uphold standards for UX writing, empty/error states, accessibility, and consistency across journeys

Partner with Product, Engineering, Content, and Clinical Experts to ensure trust, safety, and brand coherence in a wellbeing context

What success looks like (12 months)

Your journeys are measurably better, higher activation, fewer drop-offs, improved booking conversion

Content engagement improves through better discovery and completion flows

HR/admin experiences feel more actionable and HR is treated as a valued user

Your work feels consistently trustworthy, calm, and high-quality across web and mobile

You're shipping with confidence and shortening design-to-delivery cycles through AI-enabled prototyping and close engineering collaboration

About you

You're a senior-level designer with strong craft, good product instincts, and a track record of shipping meaningful, user-centred work. You're comfortable moving from strategy to pixel, and you communicate clearly with both Product and Engineering. You care about quality without being precious, and you thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

5–8+ years in product design, with evidence of shipped work and measurable impact

Strong interaction design and information architecture skills, you simplify complexity

Hands-on experience with AI-enabled prototyping and/or AI-assisted development workflows

Experience in B2B2C environments (HR buyer + employee user)

Experience improving dashboards and analytics surfaces (clarity and "so what")

Experience shipping in international, multi-language products

Nice-to-have

Experience collaborating with engineers using AI coding tools

Familiarity with evaluating AI-generated outputs for accessibility, edge cases, safety, and brand consistency

Experience in wellbeing, health, or other trust-sensitive domains
