What you'll be doing

As the District Release of Information Manager, you will provide expert leadership, advice and operational oversight for medico-legal and release of information services across Western Sydney Local Health District. You will ensure compliance with legislative requirements, privacy obligations, accreditation standards and Ministry of Health directives while driving service improvement and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing specialist advice and leadership on medico-legal, privacy and release of information matters across WSLHD

Developing, implementing and reviewing policies, procedures and standards to ensure legislative and accreditation compliance

Managing the timely processing of requests for clinical information and overseeing medico-legal correspondence

Leading quality improvement initiatives, performance reporting and KPI monitoring to support effective service delivery

Designing and delivering district-wide education and training programs on privacy, access to information and medico-legal practices

How to Apply

Tertiary qualifications in either Health Information Management, Health Management, Health law, equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience

Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, relevant legislation and NSW Health policies relating to privacy, confidentiality, and the release of information.

Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex medico legal matters and meet legislative requirements and deadlines.

Advanced computer literacy, including demonstrated experience using Patient Administration Systems, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic records management systems such as HPRM.

Proven experience in the coordination, tracking and management of medico legal requests, including subpoenas, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with legal and organisational requirements.

Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and managing administrative teams to achieve service targets and organisational outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide high-quality customer service and effectively engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated high level attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to change and maintain quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
