About the Role

The Senior Projects & Programs Officer will provide specialist leadership for the Agriculture and Animal Services Functional Area (AASFA) operational functions, with a strong focus on aviation, safety, and emergency operations.

In this role, you will:

Lead the delivery of complex programs and projects, overseeing planning, budgets, resources and timelines to ensure successful outcomes aligned with organisational priorities.

Drive program implementation and performance, establishing work plans, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and monitoring progress against key milestones, objectives and standards.

Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, partnering with internal and external clients to support collaboration, engagement and successful project delivery.

Manage strategic partnerships and contracts, leading negotiations and coordinating stakeholders to ensure services are delivered within agreed scope, budget, quality and timeframe requirements.

Provide trusted advice to senior leaders and executives, delivering clear reporting, insights and recommendations on program performance, risks and opportunities.

Lead, coach and develop high-performing teams, fostering capability growth while contributing to continuous improvement of project and program management practices across the organisation

About You

Success in this role requires a proactive and adaptable professional with strong project delivery experience, sound judgement and the ability to build productive partnerships with diverse stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.

Our ideal candidate will have;

Knowledge of DPIRD emergency management aviation policies and procedures

Experience in emergency aviation response operations

Demonstrated success in Operations Officer roles during AASFA responses

An ability to provide specialist oversight in high-pressure environments

Strong capabilities in risk management, safety, and operational compliance

Advanced skills in leadership, results delivery, and customer service

The ability to support continuity of service during disaster operations

Essential Requirements

NSW Drivers Licence and willingness and ability to travel
