Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced (3 yrs+) and successful Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the use of 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and hands-on assembly/machining skills to design parts, assemblies, and custom signage using a variety of materials and fabrication technologies. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Using Corel Draw to make/edit proofs for customers

Using SolidWorks to create 3D models, assemblies, tool pathing, sheet metal bending, shop drawings, and (ideally) injection molding.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and CorelDraw

Taking stock of sheet material inventory

Quality checking produced parts

Conceptualization, specification, and development of designs, prototypes, and test fixtures

Develop, update, and maintain design documentation, assembly drawings and related manufacturing documentation to support production readiness and process control.

Assist in identifying bottlenecks and supporting line balancing, workflow improvement, and method optimization to improve productivity and quality.

Design or support the design of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and related manufacturing aids to improve safety, consistency, and production efficiency.

Assist in process validation, test development, and implementation of new or improved products, processes, and systems.

Hands-on interest in, and experience with machines (CNC, Laser, etc.), hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and shop-floor problem solving.

Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

Ability to organize and manage multiple assigned tasks with limited guidance.

Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Work as a part of the team to specify, develop, and implement successful designs.

Evaluates and recommends changes to techniques and design to find the most effective solution

Understand and work with project timelines and deliverables

Contribute to team success through collaboration, and continuous improvement

Detail-oriented with a creative, solutions-focused
