About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Room Service Department in Milan, the Night Chef de Rang is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience during nighttime operations, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality and guest satisfaction. The Night Chef de Rang reports to the Room Service Manager and works closely with the Night Manager and other operational departments.

As Night Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Professional in-room serving of food and drinks

Professional advice and customer care for our guests

Excellent product and sales knowledge

Deliver in room dining order to the guests in a timely manner, within the quoted time

Check accuracy of order before delivering – be sure it is complete.

Assisting and preparing all VIP amenities

Preparing all orders and setting up tables or tray according to the order in timely manner complying with our quality and hygiene standards

Picking up the table after the use by the guests or as per guest’s request

Preparing the required Mise en Place and keeping the Room Service area clean

Booking all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting

Making sure that all product served are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it to the guest

Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

As Night Chef de Rang, we expect from you:

Previous experience of at least 2–3 years in a similar role within luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants or high-end hospitality environments.

Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are considered an advantage.

Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Guest-oriented mindset with a passion for luxury hospitality.

Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent teamwork.

High level of reliability, flexibility and attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
