Contract: Full-time | Permanent
Reporting to: Head of HR
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner to operational leadership, aligning HR practices with business objectives to drive performance, engagement, and organisational effectiveness. ✨The role provides expert advice on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organisational development, ensuring compliance with employment legislation across relevant jurisdictions (e.g., Ireland, UK, EU where applicable).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnering
Partner with Area Managers and operational leadership to deliver HR solutions aligned to business goals
Support workforce planning, organisational design, and restructuring initiatives
Provide data-driven insights on key people metrics (e.g., turnover, absence, engagement)
Contribute to the development and delivery of the People & Culture strategy
Employee Relations & Employment Law (Netherlands & Belgium)
Manage end-to-end employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance)

Provide expert guidance on Dutch & Belgium labour law and HR best practice
Ensure all processes are compliant with Dutch & Belgium legislation and company policies
Performance & Talent Management
Support and coach managers through performance management cycles
Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives ✅
Facilitate performance improvement plans (PIPs) and capability processes
Deliver leadership coaching and guidance to line managers
HR Administration, Onboarding & Employment Lifecycle Support
Provide comprehensive HR administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience. Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating and supporting end-to-end onboarding processes, including preparation of employment contracts, documentation, and system setup, ensuring compliance with Dutch employment legislation and internal policies.
Managing employee offboarding and terminations, including preparation of termination documentation, final payroll coordination, and ensuring all legal and procedural requirements are met.
Overseeing and facilitating pre-employment screening and background checks, ensuring completion prior to start date and maintaining compliance with applicable GDPR and local requirements.
Supporting the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of employment contracts and amendments, ensuring alignment with applicable Collective Labour Agreements (CLA) and company standards.
TUPE, Contract Transfers & Certification (RAS Compliance)
Act as a key HR partner in managing employee transfers and contractual obligations within the Dutch market, including:
Supporting and coordinating Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE-equivalent) processes in line with Dutch labour law, including employee consultation, documentation, and due diligence activities .
Reviewing and validating employee terms and conditions during transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable agreements (e.g. CLA/RAS provisions).
Supporting the administration and certification requirements under RAS (Scholings- en Ontwikkelingsfonds / industry fund) and TUPE certification (TUPE Cert), ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
Acting as a point of contact for operational stakeholders on TUPE-related queries, providing clear, practical guidance to ensure compliant implementation.
Operational HR Delivery
Act as a trusted point of contact for all HR-related queries in the Netherlands for internal stakeholders and external partners
Oversee key HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, absence management, and employee data
Ensure accuracy and compliance across HR administration and documentation
Collaborate with payroll and wider HR teams to ensure smooth operations
Employee Engagement & Culture
Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Support employee engagement initiatives and action planning
Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Act as a mediator in workplace conflicts and support resolution processes
Champion company values and behaviours
Change Management & Projects
Lead and support organisational change initiatives
Contribute to HR projects such as digital transformation, process improvements, and compliance changes
Support the rollout of HR tools, policies, and systems
Qualifications & Skills
Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
Knowledge of Dutch and Belgian employment law and ER practices
Commercially minded with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Demonstrated success in project and change management
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and building strong relationships
Familiar with HR systems and current HR trends
Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist role (4-7 years)
Experience managing complex employee relations cases
Ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders
Desirable
Experience within multi-site or operational environments (e.g., retail, facilities, hospitality)
Experience supporting multiple countries or regions
Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Personio, or similar)
