Catering Supervisor
About the role
We currently have a full-time Catering Supervisor position available to join the Spotless team at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre in Villawood, NSW. As a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, Spotless is responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse, nutritious meals that contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of people within the centres.
The role plays a pivotal part in overseeing daily operations, with key responsibilities including:
Supervising Catering Assistants to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained across all service areas
Coordinating daily with Chefs and Head Chefs to ensure adequate food preparation, product availability, and smooth catering operations
Ensuring compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan by monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety documentation accurately and on time
Ensuring all kitchen equipment is operated in accordance with safe work procedures and maintained in a clean and safe condition
Assisting with food stocktakes and audit procedures as required.
What You’ll Bring
Certificate III or Higher in Kitchen Operations
Food Safety Certificates
Working with Children Check (Employee) or willing to apply - Mandatory requirement
Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
Strong understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities
