Inside the Role

The Custom Hardware and Electronics Configurator (CHEC) team builds and maintains DTNA's proprietary web-based tool that enables Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs), dealers, and internal teams to configure and validate vehicle electrical features. CHEC operates in a safety-relevant, high-complexity domain where usability, correctness, and delivery discipline are critical.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who will focus primarily on CHEC's React/TypeScript frontend, delivering intuitive and reliable user experiences for complex configuration workflows while maintaining strong backend collaboration. AI fluency is a core competency on this team - you will use AI coding assistants daily to accelerate component development, translate UX designs into code faster, and generate comprehensive test coverage.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 – $150,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA

Lead development of React-based UI components and workflows

Implement complex configuration, validation, and visualization logic

Partner closely with UX to translate designs into high-quality implementations, using AI coding assistants to accelerate design-to-code workflows

Collaborate with backend developers on API design and data contracts

Contribute to automated UI testing and defect prevention, leveraging AI tools to generate test cases and coverage

Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies

Support production issues and continuous improvement

Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) as daily development tools to accelerate component development and code reviews

Apply prompt engineering techniques to generate, refactor, and optimize React/TypeScript code

Critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, performance, accessibility, and adherence to CHEC design patterns

Share effective prompts and AI workflow techniques with teammates

Knowledge You Should Bring

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

6+ years web application development

Deep React and TypeScript expertise on enterprise systems

Experience with complex, data-driven UIs

State management experience (Redux, Zustand, or Context API)

Frontend testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright)

Accessibility standards knowledge (WCAG 2.x compliance)

CSS and styling systems (CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, SASS/SCSS, or styled-components)

Responsive design and cross-browser development

Exposure to .NET APIs and Azure cloud services

Proficiency with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines

Demonstrated proficiency with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor) in daily development workflows

Prompt engineering skills for frontend code generation, component scaffolding, and test creation

Ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated code to meet enterprise quality standards

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

Experience in enterprise or safety-relevant systems

Performance optimization expertise (code splitting, lazy loading, bundle analysis)

Component library or design system contribution or ownership

Experience integrating LLM APIs into frontend applications

Track record of using AI tools to measurably accelerate delivery

Familiarity with AI-assisted testing and defect prevention tools
