Tech Lead Engineer (Salesforce)
Skills
About the role
As the Salesforce Tech Lead, you will own the technical vision for our Salesforce platform and drive it end-to-end - from conception through to deployment. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will architect and build complex solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows and API integrations, while establishing the CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (SFDX, GitHub Actions) that keep our delivery robust and repeatable.
You will sit at the centre of our engineering effort, where you not only build but also raise the bar for everyone around you - reviewing code, enforcing test coverage, managing governor limits, and coaching the wider team. Working shoulder to shoulder with business analysts, architects, engineers and product managers, you will translate complex technical concepts into language the business understands, estimate effort, and take accountability for getting quality solutions delivered across Sales, Service, Experience and Data Cloud.
We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.
What role will you play?
You will provide technical leadership and architectural direction for Salesforce solutions, defining the technical vision and owning the end-to-end development lifecycle from concept through to deployment. Working closely with business analysts, architects, engineers and product managers, you will translate business requirements into scalable solutions, estimate delivery effort, and ensure successful outcomes. You will also mentor development team members, conduct code reviews, uphold engineering best practices, and drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
In this hands-on role, you will design and build complex Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and integrations with external APIs and middleware platforms. You will establish and manage DevOps and CI/CD processes using tools such as SFDX and GitHub Actions, ensuring robust version control and reliable deployments. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of code quality through effective test coverage, proactive management of Salesforce governor limits, and ongoing coaching and support for engineering teams.
What you offer
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience in complex enterprise environments.
Expert-level proficiency in Apex, LWC, REST/SOAP APIs, and Salesforce SOQL.
Strong background across Salesforce Clouds such as Sales, Service, Experience and Data Cloud.
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II, and Administrator credentials (equivalent, e.g., Technical Architect).
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
