About the Role & Team
The AI Senior Research Manager Asia Pacific is a role whose primary responsibility will be achieving the program financial, business development, and research objectives as per the targets assigned. The AI Research Director will be providing thought leadership to the market on important industry trends as well as coordinating Asia Pacific research with research being conducted and delivered in other regions. The AI Research Director will be IDC Asia Pacific Insights' primary research leader in all areas encompassing AI strategies, data science, Cloud, advanced Analytics, Machine learning and AI research. Areas of expertise should include above topics.
What You’ll Do
Program Management
Leading the definition, creation and production of IDC market intelligence products and solutions for countries or domains under your responsibility.
Ensuring IDC’s market intelligence meets the needs of our existing clients and identifying new opportunities for our capabilities
Maintaining research project planning, scheduling, and tracking.
Acting as the external & internal representative of IDC research for your domain
Ensuring the organization produces quality research and analysis by rolling out new and insightful analytical programs, supplemented with thought leadership.
Insuring program profitability, cost/benefit analysis on custom research projects
Thought leadership and creation of special reports
Business Development and Client Management
Developing senior executive relationships with our clients and key players in the industry
Presenting results at senior level, or at events, as required
Providing strong support for the sales team in qualifying and closing business
Working with the sales team to develop strategic selling initiatives and account plans
Developing and nurturing a strong client service mentality in the research team
Acting as the client and media facing representative for the program in the region
Project management of fieldwork, subscription programs, custom research
Consulting & Custom Research:
Lead on key IDC Asia Pacific Energy Insights and FoO consulting & custom research projects
Identifying opportunities, assist in developing proposals, and assist in closing consulting sales
Vetting research methodologies and instruments
Creation and delivery of special reports
Financial
Achievement of financial targets established for the group under your responsibility
Monthly and annual P&L management and reporting for each research area under your responsibility by product group and type
Annual research budget planning, strategic growth planning
New product planning and positioning
What You Bring
Good understanding of and preferably hands on experience in one or more areas: data engineering/ management, data governance, data science, Cloud, advanced Analytics, Machine learning and AI.
Minimum 10 years' experience in the area of research/technology
Effective in both verbal and writing when presenting / packaging research deliverables to the clients and public
Experience in delivery of consulting projects
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
