Role summary

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate automated CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using Harness. The engineer will own build/deploy automation, IaC, container orchestration, release strategies (canary/blue-green), and production reliability practices. The role works closely with developers, QA, security, and platform teams to accelerate safe delivery.

Core Skill:

Design, build and operate robust CI/CD pipelines using Harness (pipelines, workflows, triggers, connectors, delegates, secret management, and Harness Feature Flags).

Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform to provision and manage GCP resources (GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, VPC, IAM, Artifact Registry/GCR, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub).

Build and maintain Kubernetes platform resources and Helm/Kustomize charts; support GKE cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, and upgrades.

Enable repeatable, secure deployments: containerization best practices, image promotion, vulnerability scanning, and signing.

Implement release strategies: blue/green, canary, traffic shifting and progressive delivery via Harness and/or service mesh integrations.

Integrate observability and monitoring (Cloud Monitoring/Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) and logging pipelines; create alerts and runbooks.

Automate compliance, security and secrets management (GCP IAM, Secret Manager, HashiCorp Vault, vulnerability scanning).

Troubleshoot production incidents and lead post-incident reviews; improve reliability via SRE practices and runbooks.

Coach teams on GitOps and CI/CD best practices; write docs and platform runbooks; onboard projects onto Harness and IaC modules.

Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure deployments meet governance and audit requirements.

Required skills and experience (must-haves)

Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform: GKE, IAM, VPC, Cloud Storage, Artifact Registry/GCR, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Monitoring.

Practical experience building/deploying pipelines in Harness (creating pipelines/workflows, connectors, secrets, delegates, triggers, and Harness’ progressive delivery features).

Strong Terraform skills for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure; modular, testable modules.

Kubernetes experience: manifest authoring, Helm/Kustomize, cluster troubleshooting, deployments, RBAC and networking.

Solid Linux, Docker/containerization, and Git skills.

Experience with CI/CD concepts: build agents, artifact promotion, canary/blue-green, rollback strategies.

Familiarity with CI tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab) and container registries.

Strong scripting skills (Powershell) for automation tasks.

Good communication and cross-functional teamwork skills; ability to write clear runbooks and documentation.
