QA Automation Engineer — Test Automation & CI

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of building and scaling automated quality solutions for a complex, real-time financial technology platform.

This role is focused on creating a strong automation foundation that enables engineering teams to deliver faster while maintaining high standards for reliability, performance, and data accuracy. You will design automation frameworks, develop test strategies, and build reliable test coverage across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and platform components.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can write high-quality automation code, solve challenging testing problems, and establish processes that improve confidence across the entire software delivery lifecycle.

You will work closely with Engineering, QA, Product, and technical leadership to create a scalable automation ecosystem that supports continuous delivery and dependable releases.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain automation frameworks covering web applications, APIs, backend services, and core platform workflows.

Define and implement automation strategies for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Develop automated validation for real-time workflows, live data updates, and complex user interactions.

Create test solutions for data accuracy, system reliability, and critical application behavior.

Automate testing for highly interactive interfaces, including charting tools, visual components, and data-driven user experiences.

Develop API automation and contract testing frameworks for REST services, WebSocket communication, and external integrations.

Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast feedback during development and releases.

Build reliable test suites with a focus on maintainability, execution speed, and minimizing flaky failures.

Identify gaps in test coverage and continuously improve automation effectiveness across products and services.

Establish automation standards, reusable testing patterns, and best practices for engineering teams.

Track quality metrics including test stability, coverage, execution performance, and defect trends.

Collaborate with developers to improve code quality and ensure testing is embedded throughout the development process.

Required Qualifications

5–8 years of experience in QA Automation, SDET, or Software Test Engineering.

Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from the beginning.

Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, or similar languages.

Ability to create clean, maintainable, and scalable automation solutions.

Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

Experience building automated tests for APIs, including REST and WebSocket-based systems.

Practical experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.

Experience testing complex web applications with real-time data, dynamic states, or high-volume interactions.

Strong debugging and analytical skills with the ability to investigate failures independently.

Ability to take ownership of automation strategy and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Willingness to work from the Chennai office.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on fintech, trading platforms, brokerage systems, or financial data applications.

Understanding of financial market data concepts such as live prices, ticks, OHLC values, and order book behavior.

Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or similar tools.

Experience testing visualization-heavy applications using Canvas, D3.js, WebGL, or custom rendering frameworks.

Familiarity with API mocking, contract testing, and third-party integration validation.

Experience working with monorepo environments and testing tools such as Nx.

Knowledge of Indian or U.S. financial market workflows and trading systems.

Pay: ₹3,500,000.00 - ₹6,000,000.00 per year
