About the role

Overview:

This is a hybrid role based out of Malvern, PA, with three days per week in the office.

CubeSmart is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the Information Technology team at our corporate office in Malvern, PA. The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of CubeSmart’s enterprise store operating platform. This role is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer with at least one year of professional software development experience who is eager to grow technical skills, learn from experienced teammates, and help deliver reliable, scalable software solutions.

Who We Are

CubeSmart is a publicly traded real estate investment trust focused on the development, acquisition, disposition, and management of self-storage facilities. Headquartered in Malvern, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, CubeSmart is one of the largest self-storage owners and operators in the United States, with more than 1,500 locations nationwide.

Our growth is made possible by our teammates across the country who work together to serve our customers, support one another, and deliver results through a culture of open communication and collaboration. At CubeSmart, we are intentional about culture - from our mission statement of “genuine care” to our “It’s What’s Inside That Counts” tagline to calling each other “teammates” rather than employees.

CubeSmart’s award-winning team is made up of people who genuinely care. Teammates are passionate, responsible, understanding, and committed to their own success and the success of the company. If this sounds like a team and culture that matches your personal values and motivations, we want to hear from you.

Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, and quality assurance teammates to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, code reviews, and other agile ceremonies.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following team standards and software development lifecycle best practices.

Assist with troubleshooting, defect resolution, application monitoring, and production support activities.

Contribute to automated testing, including unit, integration, smoke, and regression tests.

Use source control, development tools, and deployment processes to support effective software delivery.

Learn and apply engineering principles related to performance, scalability, privacy, security, and maintainability.

Work with teammates in both in-house and offshore development environments, communicating clearly and constructively.

Participate in on-call support rotations as needed, with guidance from senior teammates.
