About the role
Odyssey Family Counseling Center, an outpatient behavioral health agency, is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team two days a week for hours 9am - 6pm to provide Diagnostic Assessments and E&M services to our clients.
Hours: Every other Monday 9:00 am - 6:00pm and Every Wednesday 9:00am - 6:00pm
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate diagnosis in an office setting
- Prescribe and manage medications for clients when appropriate and make adjustments to medication when necessary, in an office setting
- Work with all ages to include adults and children
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in EHR (CareLogic experience preferred but not required)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Georgia
- Valid DEA license
- Have a collaborating physician and current agreement
- Valid Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Enrolled as a Medicaid provider with active status
- Enrolled as a Medicare provider with active status or be willing to credential
- Current CAQH profile
- 2 + years' experience working in a psychiatric or behavioral health outpatient setting
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
