Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team and oversee the daily morning deployment of our drivers and fleet.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent organisational ability, and a passion for delivering high-quality transport operations.

About the Role

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient morning operation of our services, managing drivers, allocating vehicles, maintaining compliance, and ensuring our customers receive the reliable service Nolan Coaches is known for.

This is a hands-on operational role and may involve driving company vehicles from time to time to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily morning deployment of drivers and vehicles.

Ensure all services depart safely and on time.

Allocate spare drivers and manage driver absences.

Monitor driver attendance and punctuality.

Supervise driver sign-on procedures.

Ensure all drivers complete walk-round safety inspections.

Ensure Digital Tachograph Cards are correctly used.

Monitor compliance with Drivers' Hours Regulations and company procedures.

Liaise with drivers, maintenance staff, and management throughout the morning operation.

Manage operational issues, breakdowns, and service disruptions.

Complete daily operational reports and maintain accurate records.

Ensure vehicle defects are reported and communicated promptly.

Maintain high operational and customer service standards.

Drive company vehicles where required to support operational needs.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

A valid Category D (Bus) Driving Licence.

A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.

A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Previous experience in a transport, logistics, fleet, or operational supervisory role.

Good knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours Regulations and Digital Tachograph legislation.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and organisational abilities.

Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use transport management, fleet management, compliance, and operational software.

The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and make effective decisions under pressure.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience within the bus or coach industry.

Experience supervising drivers and managing fleet operations.

Knowledge of PSV legislation and transport compliance.

Experience using transport management, rostering, and fleet management systems.

Transport management qualifications would be an advantage.
