Senior Product Manager — Backend & Data (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager – Backend & Platform to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of the core backend systems powering a high-performance financial technology platform.

In this role, you will own the product vision and delivery for backend services, APIs, real-time market data infrastructure, and third-party integrations. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Business Development, QA, and Support teams to define priorities, drive execution, and ensure platform capabilities are built with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role designed for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and technology. You should be comfortable collaborating directly with engineers, understanding complex technical systems, making informed trade-offs, and taking ownership of products from discovery through launch.

Success in this role means delivering a well-executed backend roadmap, improving platform reliability, accelerating integration efforts, and building systems that support long-term product growth.

Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the product roadmap for backend platforms, APIs, SDKs, market data systems, and infrastructure capabilities.

Translate business goals and technical requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.

Own the lifecycle of third-party integrations with exchanges, brokers, and data providers, from evaluation through production rollout and ongoing optimization.

Create scalable processes and documentation to improve the efficiency and consistency of future integrations.

Collaborate with external partners to maintain strong standards around data quality, system reliability, performance, and operational requirements.

Make informed product decisions by balancing technical complexity, scalability, latency, reliability, cost, and business priorities.

Partner with Engineering teams to manage dependencies, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery of roadmap commitments.

Define quality benchmarks and success metrics for platform services while continuously improving system performance.

Work with Engineering and Support teams to investigate platform issues, identify root causes, and drive improvements.

Gather insights from users, internal teams, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements.

Manage the complete product lifecycle, including discovery, planning, execution, launch, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

6–9 years of Product Management experience focused on backend platforms, infrastructure, APIs, developer platforms, or data-intensive products.

Experience working with financial technology, trading platforms, investment products, or financial market data.

Strong technical understanding of APIs, system architecture, data models, distributed systems, and platform design.

Experience managing third-party integrations from vendor evaluation through implementation and production support.

Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear product documentation and technical specifications.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize complex initiatives and make data-driven decisions.

Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and contribute to technical discussions.

Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment with high ownership.

Ability to work effectively in a remote setup with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with exchange feeds, broker APIs, or financial market data providers.

Familiarity with real-time technologies such as streaming systems, WebSockets, event-driven architecture, or time-series databases.

Experience using SQL or scripting tools for data analysis and validation.

Exposure to payments, billing, subscription platforms, or financial workflows.

Knowledge of FIX protocol or financial market infrastructure.

Experience using AI-powered tools to improve product discovery, documentation, and execution workflows.
