FUNCTIONAL ANALYST

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Functional Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of supporting New York State Department of Heath Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) activities at Corporate Woods in Albany, NY. You will play a crucial role in managing schedules, reviewing project status, and understanding how to assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. You will actively monitor project progress with an emphasis on problem solving. You will be closely collaborating with project managers, functional managers, clients and other stakeholders.
HOW A FUNCTIONAL ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Work closely with functional managers to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded project schedules using MS Project
Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, milestone charts, and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near term tasks, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances
Supports the metrics team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects/programs
Follows schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures
Work in collaboration with project managers to drive efficiency in project execution and accuracy in project reporting
Schedule estimating and updating for new work and remaining work
Identify major milestones, decision points, project lifecycle and other project events
Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems
Create, analyze, and report weekly metrics to Project Managers and PMO Manager
Create and prepare SLIM scheduling reports
Maintain accurate records/paperwork
Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews
Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required to meet deadlines
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your metrics and scheduling expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Functional Analyst must have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, or a related discipline
Required Technical Skills: Familiarity with the MS Office Products including MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint
Required Skills and Abilities:
Two (2) or more years’ related work experience in metrics data analysis
Must be familiar with the management, operational, and technical aspects of SDLC
Prior experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting measurable performance metrics
Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment.
Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Experience in Medicaid or Healthcare Processing Systems
Preferred Skills:
Two (2) or more years of hands-on project scheduling experience using MS Project
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
MS Project Server experience (not required, highly desirable)

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $55,806 - $73,600. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
