About the Job

Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, this role is responsible for managing the end-to-end order process, coordinating logistics (including export requirements), and ensuring accurate, timely communication and delivery. The role supports both customer service excellence and efficient transport and despatch operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end order process, ensuring all orders are accurate, complete, and progressed in line with customer and business requirements

Act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries, providing timely updates on order status, delivery, and resolving queries

Monitor and review the order book daily, understanding production schedules and priorities to support customer commitments

Maintain accurate and consistent data across IT systems, including pricing and customer information

Coordinate transport planning in line with sales order requirements, using freight agents and carrier portals to ensure timely deliveries

Consolidate loads and manage logistics activities to optimise efficiency and cost

Generate delivery documentation, export paperwork, and invoicing in line with company and customer requirements

Ensure compliance with export regulations, audit requirements, and maintain accurate despatch and compliance records

Liaise with internal teams (production, planning, operations) to ensure smooth order fulfilment and delivery performance

Support supplier and logistics coordination where required to meet delivery expectations

Maintain knowledge of export processes, tariffs, and documentation requirements (training provided where needed)

Produce and review daily reports to monitor performance and identify issues or delays

Support continuous improvement by identifying process improvements and maintaining high standards of accuracy and service

Work collaboratively within the team, providing cross-cover and supporting colleagues where needed

This role is full-time (37-40hour) fixed term contract for 12-18months

Candidate Profile

Understanding of Export process and procedures

Experience with Audit and compliance

Experience with SAP planning system is desirable

Previous use of Tariff classification would be beneficial

Strong attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong IT skills

Good commercial awareness

Confident telephone manner

Liaise with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to organise timely deliveries.

Negotiate terms with clients and logistics providers to optimise costs and service levels.

Oversee the utilisation of AS400 systems for data entry, order processing, and inventory management.

Facilitate lead generation activities to client base within B2B markets.

Maintain accurate records of export transactions, shipments, and customer interactions.

Support sales management efforts by providing data analysis and reporting on export activities.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including FDA standards during the export process.

Experience

Proven experience in customer service within a logistics or supply chain environment.

Demonstrable knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), EDI, and CRM software.

Strong understanding of logistics operations, freight forwarding, and B2B sales processes.

Experience with supply chain management, including negotiation with vendors and clients.

Familiarity with FDA regulations related to international exports is desirable.

Previous utilisation of AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for data entry and order processing is advantageous.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
