This role is 100% REMOTE

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build, and support solutions across global merchandising technology platforms. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality solutions, owning key application areas, and contributing to technical direction.
This role works across a dual legacy and modern environment, supporting existing systems while contributing to modernization, optimization, and platform evolution.
Responsibilities:
Technology Delivery & Execution
Design, develop, and maintain applications and services supporting merchandising capabilities
Deliver enhancements, integrations, and defect resolution across platforms
Contribute to development and integration of AI/ML-driven features within applications and services
Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve coding efficiency and quality
Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements
Participate in system monitoring, support, and incident resolution
Core Platforms & Capabilities
Own and support a set of applications or capabilities, which may include:
Planning (allocation, assortment, MFP)
Pricing, promotion, and markdown
Core merchandising and item/product systems
Inventory, replenishment, and size/pack optimization
Support and enhance legacy platforms while identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization
Engineering Practices
Follow engineering best practices for coding, testing, and deployment
Demonstrate proficiency across multiple technologies and languages, adapting to different systems and platforms as needed
Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to standards
Build and maintain integrations using APIs, messaging, and data pipelines
Support CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts
Execution & Collaboration
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects, enhancements, and fixes
Collaborate across onshore/offshore teams and time zones
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives
Communicate technical solutions clearly to business and technical stakeholders
Modernization & Improvement
Contribute to efforts to refactor, migrate, or replace legacy systems
Identify opportunities to improve system performance and maintainability
Help drive simplification and consolidation of technology platforms
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5–8 years of experience in application development and support
Experience with enterprise platforms and distributed systems
Strong experience with APIs, integration technologies, and databases
Experience working across legacy and modern environments
Familiarity with data-driven and AI-enabled solutions, with interest or experience in applying machine learning or intelligent automation in enterprise environments
Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevOps tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working in global, distributed teams

Benefits:
The annual base salary range is $100,000 - $130,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
