What this job involves: As a Systems Development Engineer 1 at JLL, you'll be an integral part of our technology infrastructure team, focused on building, automating, and maintaining the systems that keep our global operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll work on infrastructure automation, system reliability, and operational excellence initiatives that directly support our business and technology teams worldwide. You'll collaborate with cloud engineers, software developers, and operations teams to design scalable solutions, implement monitoring and alerting systems, and troubleshoot complex technical issues. What your day-to-day will look like: Design and implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency, deployment processes, and operational workflows

Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, responding to incidents and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application deployment and infrastructure provisioning

Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for reliability, scalability, and observability

Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for production systems and resolve critical issues

Document system architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures to enable knowledge sharing

Contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies

Work with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices across systems and infrastructure

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

0-2 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering, or related technical role

Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar

Understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals

Experience with version control systems, particularly Git

Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and at least one major cloud platform

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly

Preferred qualifications: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes

Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Chef

Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk

Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms

Familiarity with database administration for SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience with configuration management and automated deployment strategies

Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, and VPNs

Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar
