Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

The Associate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for managing and resolving the most challenging issues for the ServiceNow SRE team focusing on instance performance, reliability and availability.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly gain an understanding of the ServiceNow platform.

This is a technical role and requires strong trouble shooting skills as well as strong technical skill.

Provide relief and sustainable resolution to issues within our infrastructure.

Use your experience in software development, systems engineering and networking to proactively prevent repeatable issues.

Drive initiatives with partner teams to improve the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.

Drive a culture of intolerance to manual activity which results in a highly automated environment delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.

Bachelor's Degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent.

Basic Knowledge of ITIL driven IT Operations – Incident, Problem & Change Management.

Experience working well in a team environment while also being able to work productively while unsupervised

Strong personal commitment to quality and customer service

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate solutions to technical problems

Excellent time management skills

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult technical issues

Experience working on Unix/Linux environment

Basic understanding of Networking skills, IP addressing and routing.

Ability to work 4 days (10 hours mostly Wed- Sat)

The following additional skills are preferred but not required:

Experience TCP/IP, Networking knowledge

Experience with Splunk

Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible and Puppet

Working knowledge of the components in a web applications stack.

Experience diagnosing performance degradation (e.g. explain plans, database tuning)

Understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Postgres)

Familiarity with one (or more) scripting languages: JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, Windows Shell)

Familiarity with monitoring of large and scalable systems, applications and networks.
