We are looking for you to join our headquarters in Hamburg's HafenCity in full-time (38.5 h/week)!

Data Engineer (m/f/d)

Your new job includes

As a Data Engineer, you design and own stable and scalable data solutions, transform manual processes into automated data pipelines, and deliver high-quality data products. You ensure data quality, performance, and availability, translate business requirements into technical designs, and work closely with IT, BI, and adjacent teams. At the same time, you actively drive the evolution of the engineering landscape through the use of new technologies.

In particular, you will

process large volumes of data across complex data pipelines and ensure the provisioning of heterogeneous satellite systems (e.g. via import and export processes across different engines and platforms)

capture, evaluate, and translate business requirements into technical solutions for new developments and enhancements in collaboration with modelling, analytics, IT, and business teams

continuously develop and professionalize methods and systems for strategic and operational data provisioning across cross-system tools and products

conduct root cause analyses, establish monitoring, and continuously optimize existing processes and systems

contribute your expertise to integrative projects, prepare complex topics for different target audiences, and advise cross-functional teams on process-related topics

ensure data quality, performance, availability, reliability, and cost-efficiency in productive operations

What you should bring along

A completed degree in (business) informatics, data science, mathematics, or a comparable field, or an equivalent qualification

Several years of professional experience working with large data volumes, as well as processing data across complex pipelines and systems

Strong proficiency in Python for developing, automating, and optimizing data processes, particularly in building and operating data pipelines; good SQL skills are an advantage

Relevant experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery, as well as in the continuous optimization of data processes and systems

Ability to present complex topics in an understandable way and communicate them effectively for different target groups

High quality standards with regard to data quality, performance, availability, and stability

Very good German skills and good English skills, both written and spoken
